Building A Strong Social Media Strategy to Get Noticed Online

It’s no secret, anymore, that getting your business on Facebook is important for growth online.  It is a key way to get your name out there and get more customers in your door, whether an on-site business or online store.  A social media strategy is key.  So how do we stand out in such a crowded space?  Well, we don’t claim to have all the answers, but we are working on it just like everyone else.  We have put together some tips that work for us, and we hope they work for you too!

Frequency – The amount you post says everything.  In a crowded space, one or two post per week will not work.  You need to post a minimum of one post per day, and in most cases, two or more per day.  They key is to get noticed.  You don’t need to post amazing perfect content.   Just post well planned useful content more frequently than other people.

Compete.  Dominate – If you are trying to compete with competitors you won’t rise above them, you will only be in a race.  Think in terms of dominating the competition and making them look at you as a goal or aspiration.  To do this, refer back to the first tip.

Be Relevant – If the information you are producing isn’t relevant, then what are you doing?  If your hair salon is sharing a funny cat video to get a lot of likes, you aren’t going to be relevant.  You may get a lot of likes for a cat taking a bath, but will that help you grow your hair salon?  Absolutely not.

Engage & Interact – Once you start to get interest, don’t blow it by not interacting with your audience.  If a follower comments on a post, comment back!  If a user writes a question, answer it!  Quickly!

Persistence Over Perfection – This is our favorite saying.  So many of our clients get frustrated because they miss a couple posts or don’t get back to a couple of their followers and they think that they have blown it.  Nobody can be perfect.  Everyone misses a post or two here and there.  The key is to get back on the horse and start riding again.  Be persistent, not perfect.

We hope these tips help you with whatever your goals are, and that you share this information with others.  If you have any questions, please feel free to let us know!  We can also help you put together a custom social media strategy!
